I’ve read many, many words on the iPhone Duo. Realistically, I’m both curious about the device, and eager to make sure I didn’t make a mistake not getting one. Every review I’ve read and every video I’ve watched has given me confidence that no, the Duo isn’t for me, at least not in this version.
But I think nothing I’ve read or watched drives that point home as much as this incredibly high production quality video from HTX Studio, with whom I wasn’t familiar before.
I mean, it’s more than 20 minutes, so yes, I watched it at 2× speed. But it’s incredible, and I really appreciate the nuanced look at UI annoyances even in apps that are optimized for the Duo. You cannot see enough screen real estate in apps like Messages, and you basically have to make two moves: open the Duo, rotate the Duo — to get reasonable screen real estate… in a form factor that’s a pain unless you have both hands free and some desk space.
I can’t overstate how useful this video is to watch if you’re still on the fence about the iPhone Duo.
