I imagine many Lex On Tech readers are Apple TV devotees. I have and use Apple TVs. But I’ve found the Fire Stick to be a great device, and in fact our main television is a standalone Fire TV.
What’s good: It’s fast, it supports … everything, and you can sideload apps if desired.
What’s less good: Like many streaming devices, it wants to show you ads if you don’t do anything when you turn on your TV.
Drawing power from your TV instead of needing an additional cable is pretty great.
Update: Oh, and it only costs $30 during “Prime Day Deals” next week, apparently.
