TechCrunch:
The 30-year-old company remarked that it received “hundreds of thousands” of new downloads since its decision to keep the name Lake Ontario in place, and saw its app’s usage climb to 50 times above its normal levels.
MapQuest has two things going for it that I imagine are propelling it up the App Store ranks:
- Standing up to Trump’s idiocy and refusing to rename Lake Ontario based on his whims.
- Apple recently explicitly made its own Maps app worse.
